Created in Netherlands in 2017, the aptly named Surprise Me mobile application is made for people with a strong sense of adventure. The concept of the app is so simple. As the registered user, you will be ask to select a date, budget and theme (e.g. backpacking or city break). Surprise Me will then generate a suggested packing list for your surprise destination. Your destination will not be revealed until you reach the airport (too late for you to back out!).

Surprise Me is not for people for a specific destination in mind. You have to be flexible and open to the thrill of unplanned trips for the app to work for you.

Lucky Trip

If you love spontaneous adventures but budget is also a consideration, try Lucky Trip. This app helps travelers organise a trip around their specific budgets.

What’s beautiful about this app is that it does all the search and comparison of accommodations, flights, and various booking needs so you don’t have to. Lucky Trip scans aggregate websites including SkyScanner and Booking.com.

To use the app, you just need to input your maximum budget for flights and accommodations, your target travel date, and select one of the themes ranging from adventure to culture.
